When my cat wouldn’t come in after I kept calling him I would open the door and shake the bag of dry food and here he comes running. We have a Golden Retriever Santa Paws Christmas Shirt that meets us at the front door when he hears us open the back door to get the dog bowls. Food is kept on the front porch in the rubber trash can. They know the signs. Our dogs are creepy psychic, if I think about feeding them, they appear at my feet! Too damn cute my cats come running when I open a can of tuna it’s a manual opener still trying to figure out how they know.
